Saint Augustine’s School was established on 4th of Sept 2002 by Rev Fr Emmanuel Oramah O.S.A. The then Parish Priest of St. John’s Catholic Church Mararaba and the Rev Sis. Catherine (Kate) Ikwueke H.H.C.J. Staff who reported for duty after three days of orientation course. The school started with fourteen staff members. Late Mr James Akindele was the first head teacher of the school.
The school started with a population of 210 pupils.
First PTA meeting was held on the 3rd July, 2004.
While the secondary was established on 18th September 2007 by Rev fr. Joseph Davou (OSA) and the first pioneer head of the secondary school is Mrs Agnes Ngozi Ugorji. She was the first Vice Principal and social studies teacher with ten other teachers. The first common entrance into JSS1 was conducted on 19th September 2007 and a total number of 104 students were admitted. The secondary school started with eleven staff members. YCS was introduced into the school the same year.
The first Js3 external examination was written in 2010/2011 academic session. While the first SSCE examination (WAEC and NECO respectively) was written in 2021.
